Project Description

Metromac is executing Electrical and Instrumentation Works in ASMEF Yard under M/s Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory. The Main Contractor was Tecnicas Reunidas.

Scope of Work

Electrical Scope

  • Conductor and Cable Installation: Includes laying and connection of insulated or bare copper/aluminum conductors (up to 70 mm²) in pipes, trays, and structures for LV, Lighting, and Heat tracing (EHT) systems.

  • Grounding and Lightning Protection: Installation of grounding bus bars and lightning protection systems with masts, cables/plates, discharge counters, supports, and connection to the earthing grid.

  • Cable Trays and Covers: Supply and installation of cable trays and covers for Lighting and EHT systems, with tray widths ranging from 150 mm to 600 mm.

  • Field Electrical Equipment: Installation of local control stations, switches, junction boxes, power outlets (up to 100 A), and lighting fixtures (HPSV/LED, up to 250 W) in various mounting configurations.

  • Cable Termination and Glanding: Glanding and termination of LV cables up to 25 mm² for lighting and junction box connections.

  • Electrical Heat Tracing (EHT): Complete EHT system installation for piping, including thermostats, glands, connection kits, end kits, and accessories.

Instrumentation Scope

  • Flow, Level, Pressure & Temperature Instruments: Installation of Rotameters, Coriolis and Ultrasonic flow meters, radar level transmitters, magnetic indicators, pressure transmitters/gauges, and temperature elements with thermowells.

  • Valves: Mounting of control, pneumatic/hydraulic on-off, motorized, and safety valves (up to 8").

  • Tubing and Air Supply Systems: Stainless steel tubing (¾" to 2") and air manifolds for control valves and field instruments.

  • Miscellaneous Devices: Installation of local electronic indicators and supporting accessories.

  • Analyzer House & Local Cabinets: Setting out and installation of analyzer houses (up to 20 tons), local cabinets, and racks.

  • Cable Trays for Instrumentation: Tray installation for instrument cabling in sizes from 35 mm to 650 mm.
