Portable Gas Detectors Calibration

Portable Gas Detectors Calibration

METROMAC is the authorized service center for M/S Riken Keiki Japan & M/S RKI USA made Portable/ Fixed Gas Detectors & Systems. Gas Detectors are used to identify any gas leaks within the work area to avoid hidden death traps and ensure your protection. All Gas Detectors must be calibrated regularly to maximize personal safety.

What is Calibration for Gas Detectors?

Calibration ensures that gas detector sensors provide accurate and reliable readings. It involves exposing the detector to a known concentration of calibration gas to verify and adjust its response. For accurate calibration, always use the correct gas blend specified by the manufacturer and check that the calibration gas is within its expiry date.

How often should a gas detector be calibrated?

The sensitivity of the gas detectors play a major role in the frequency required to calibrate the gas detectors. The need for bump testing is more in the case of electrochemical sensors as the technology is known to drift with considerable exposure to the said gases. Gas sensor deterioration is caused by exposure to substances that damage sensors as well as properties in the sensor will change over long-term use.
